Monday Night!

So the "Monday Night" thing you ask????
Everyday on Patong Beach's main and back roads, a Tuk Tuk would drive around with the Muay Thai Champions on top of it trying to get the crowds into the boxing pits.

There was a voice recorded on a tape with a deep American accented boxing announcers voice on a loudspeaker saying quite calmly and v e r y...s l o w l y, "Monday Night, Monday Night! Come see the best of the best. See the champion of champion in the deadly martial art. Muay Thai . Monday Night, Monday Night" on an endless loop. Of course, afterwards we didnt have a clue what night this event was on and insisted upon asking each other "did anybody catch what night that boxing thing was on???"

We ran amok (after too many tigers yelling "Monday night Monday Night" at the singapore airport terminal. It was farcken funny for us anyway…


I entered the ring for a bout, but thought I should put on some protection. The only thing at hand was my spiffy, plastic motorbike kit which was perfect for Muay Thai.
